How can a website be used while under construction

This is one of hundreds of videos where I answer the most commonly asked questions small business owners have about website development. Here’s the funny thing, I kind of batch these videos together when I make numerous at a time and I’ve changed my shirt several times and not my pants once. I mean there’s no need for me to change my pants, that’s what I’m saying. This just got awkward.

Today’s question is, “How can a business website be used while it’s under construction?” It’s a very interesting question. If you have an old website just keep using that old website until the day comes when your web developer’s done with the website. They’ll make the switch in an afternoon and then a new website is up!

Let’s say this is your first website and you don’t have an old website to do, you definitely don’t want an “Under Construction” notice on your website. One thing we do at wpXPRESS (formerly Fiddler Online) is we develop a simple landing page, if our client requests, that has the logo, the phone number, address, hours of operation, basic information and then maybe a place to put the email so we can remind people when the final website is actually launched.

So don’t let the website linger if you’re up and running as a business. Put something on there, very simple, so at least they know how to contact you if they’re interested in learning more about your business.
